Diagnostic simulator

Credits

Every simulation costs one credit. Credits are grouped by source, and the source decides who sees the run.

Each simulation costs 1 credit. The Credits number in the simulator sidebar is your total across all sources.

Credits are grouped by source

Your credits aren't one single pot — they are kept per source:

  • Personal credits — yours alone. Runs paid from them are Private: nobody but you ever sees the transcript or evaluation.
  • Group credits — one bucket per seminar group you've joined. Runs paid from them are Shared: the group's teacher sees the transcript and evaluation.

When you start a simulation and belong to at least one group, the Run as step lets you choose which source pays — and therefore who sees the run. See Starting a simulation.

Where credits come from

SourceWhat you get
Joining a seminar groupA one-time grant of the group's per-student amount, into that group's bucket. See Joining a group.
Your group's teacherThe organizer can add more credits to your group bucket at any time.
The Edustories teamPersonal credits granted directly to your account.

Credits can't be purchased in the app. If you run out, the simulator shows "You have no credits. Ask your seminar organizer to grant you some." If you're not part of a group, reach out to the Edustories team.

When a credit is spent (and when it's returned)

  • A credit is deducted when the simulation starts.
  • If the simulation fails to start (a technical error before the pupil's first message), the credit is returned automatically.
  • An Abandoned simulation (left inactive for 2 hours) does not return its credit — the run happened, it just was never ended. Always finish with End conversation to get your evaluation. See Results and history.
