Seminar groups

For teachers and lecturers — create a group, invite students with a link or QR code, and review every attempt.

Not verified yet

Seminar groups turn the simulator into a classroom tool. You create a group, share a join link, and every student who joins receives credits to run simulations. You then see each student's status, transcript, and evaluation in one dashboard — including students who run it without an account (guests).

Group creation is enabled on request

Creating groups requires organizer access granted by the Edustories team. Once enabled, a Manage groups link appears in your simulator sidebar. Joining and running simulations in groups needs no special access.

Creating a group

In Manage groups, press Create group and fill in:

  • Name — how the group appears to you and to joining students (e.g. "Special pedagogy, Tuesday seminar").
  • Credits granted per student on join — how many simulations each student gets when they join. For guests (students without an account), this is also the maximum number of attempts per device.
  • Enabled languages — which simulation languages (Czech, English) members of this group may use.

Settings are fixed after creation

A group's name, per-student credits, and languages can't be changed later. You can still add extra credits to individual students at any time.

Inviting students

Every group has a Join link card with:

  • the invite URL and a Copy link button,
  • a QR code for scanning in class,
  • Present mode — a fullscreen QR code to project, with a live counter of how many students have joined (no names are shown on screen).

Anyone with the link can join while the group is open — share it only with your class. What students see when they open it is described in Joining a group.

The group dashboard

The dashboard refreshes automatically every few seconds, so you can leave it open during a seminar and watch progress live.

Students

One row per member with their status — Joined (hasn't started yet), In simulation, or Finished — the number of completed attempts, and the credits they've been granted. Guests are marked with a Guest badge and appear under the name or ID they entered.

Row actions:

  • View transcript — opens a finished attempt with the same Results / Conversation tabs the student sees. Works for guests too.
  • Add credits — grant more runs to a student (+1, +3, +5, +10). Available for account members only; guests are limited to the group's per-student amount.
  • Remove — removes the member from the group. This takes effect immediately, without a confirmation prompt.

All attempts

A chronological list of every simulation run in the group, including guests' runs, with its status and a link to the transcript and evaluation of each finished attempt. Attempts by members who later deleted their account remain listed.

Closing a group

Close group stops new students from joining — the invite link shows "This group is closed to new members." Closing also stops guests from starting further runs (guests start each run from the invite page). Students with accounts who already joined can keep using their remaining credits, and you keep full access to all transcripts. Reopen makes the link work again.

Tell your students about visibility

Students are shown a notice before joining: by joining, their transcripts and evaluations become visible to you. Runs they start outside the group (as Personal) stay private to them.
