During a simulation

How the interview chat works, what the AI pupil will and won't do, and how to end the conversation.

Not verified yet

A simulation is a chat between you and the AI pupil. The pupil speaks first — typically a hesitant opening line, the way a child called in for a talk might actually start. From there, you lead the interview.

The chat

  • Type your message into the box ("Write a message to the student...") and press Send. Enter sends the message; Shift+Enter inserts a new line.
  • While the pupil is "thinking", a typing indicator appears. Wait for the reply before planning your next question.
  • There is no hard limit on length or number of turns. The interview is designed for roughly five to eight minutes; if it runs long, the pupil may naturally signal being tired or wanting to go back to class — just like a real child would.

What the pupil will and won't do

The AI stays in character as a child of the selected age with the selected profile, for the whole conversation:

  • It answers the way a real pupil might: briefly, sometimes evasively, opening up only when your questions make it feel safe to.
  • It portrays one profile per simulation. If you try to steer the conversation toward a different difficulty than the one being played, the AI breaks character and points it out rather than improvising a second problem.
  • It won't hand you the diagnosis. Your job is to uncover the situation through open questions, not to get the pupil to name it.

Ending the conversation

When you have learned what you can (or want to see how you did), press End conversation and confirm. The AI then writes the Interview evaluation — this can take a little while, up to a couple of minutes for a long transcript. Once it's ready, you land on the results page.

Leaving without ending

If you close the tab or navigate away without ending the conversation, the simulation stays In progress and you can resume it anytime from My simulations in the sidebar. However, after 2 hours without a message the simulation is marked Abandoned: it can no longer be opened or evaluated, and the credit is not returned. If you want the evaluation, always finish with End conversation.
